Items of the Gods

The gods in The Realm, and their temples, do not at present do anything (exception: Enid's Temple is part of the Enid's Perfect Rose quest). They merely provide a background story and color to the game. Going to a god's temple and using the /worship emote does nothing. You cannot invoke the gods. You cannot speak to them. To get any of the god items you must find them while hunting, either as treasure dropped by a defeated monster or in a chest, bonepile, or sarcophagus.

Despothes Despothes is the King of all six Realm Gods. He rules over all realm deities and is thought to be of neutral alignment. He is the god responsible for lifting the Mists. There is a spell requiring the book "Despothes’ Wrath" (Implementors Only). His scepter, worth 2525 gp, causes all opponents to be hit by a random fireball, ice storm, or lightning bolt, each opponent taking 1-1000 points of fire, cold, or electrical damage. Temple found in Wandering Wood.

Despothes Duach is the God of Evil and Darkness. Duach is served by his vile creations, the Fenri and the Wraiths. These minions of Duach roam vast portions of the Realm, searching for new victims and carrying out his ghastly plans. Duach's loyal demigod is Lord Deamon. It is rumored that Duach is planning to smite Leinster once the mists lift. There is a spell requiring the book "Duach's Vengeance" which does extensive damage when used in combat. Duach's Crystal, worth 2525 gp, performs the same function but is destroyed when used. Temple found in The Wild Beyond.

Despothes Elphame is the Goddess of Death and keeper of the Dark Mists. Elphame is responsible for the creation of both the Banshee and the Imp. She is Goddess of the mists which encapsulate our Realm and of the underworld. Elphame is the Judge of the Dead, and oft times the living. There is a spell requiring the book "Elphame's Justice" which cause all players in combat to be judged and, if found ‘wanting’, they are instantly killed. Her scales, rarely found on some monsters when killed, perform the same function but are destroyed when used. Temple found in Winter Wold.

Despothes Enid is the Goddess of Peace, Romance, Nature, and all things good. Enid created, and is served by, the Faeries found wandering throughout the Realm, healing citizens. Enid does not take kindly to those who would bring harm to her nature, or her faery servants. Enid's demigod is LordLight. There is a spell requiring the book "Enid's Blessing" which heals all damage and cures all poison among all characters in a group. Her Perfect Rose, worth 2525 gp, will perform the same function but is destroyed in the process. Temple found in Devon Forest.

Despothes Finvarra has little known about him beyond that he is the deity of War and Violence. Temple found in Tourney Grove.

Mabon God of Mysticism and Magic, Mabon is the Wizard's God, responsible for the creation of all magic. There is a spell requiring the book "Mabon's Forced Flee" (Implementors Only). His staff forces all opponents to flee combat. Temple is out of Monmouth.
