In much the same style as J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Realm offers a wide assortment of battle armor, weaponry, and other gear. And one most definitely needs it to do battle with the Wasp Queen and the Hellhounds. Featuring powerful and protective items, The Realm equips its travelers for success, but actually making it through the game alive is another story. One may choose from helmets, bows, axes, swords, belts and boots as well as amulets that are made from the simplest materials (think iron and steel) but with extraordinary results. In The Realm, one may find the power and the skill that it takes to succeed. But it is still up to individual cunning and a warrior like spirit to become one with the gods of this land.

That, unfortunately for many of those, who will not make it out of The Realm alive is something that cannot be taught or given at the beginning. It is up to one’s brain, brawn and tenacity to determine whether or not there is a place for him in The Realm. When one reaches deep down within himself, he can find the greatest tools of all for braving the hazards and making the most of his time spent here.

One final note: the knowledge that one encounters throughout this thorough and immersible game is perhaps the greatest tool of all. Distinguishing friends from enemies is not always an easy task in a multiplayer such as this, and cerebral warfare is perhaps the most important fighting skill of all to carving out a niche for oneself in the sometimes barren and sometimes beautiful terrains of The Realm. When one gets ready to play, he must arm himself with all matter of weaponry and protection, both the things that can be held in one’s hands, and the things that must be kept within mind.
